TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama golf program was featured on the cover of the September 7 edition of Golfweek with the men's and the women's teams selected as the nation's preseason No. 1 teams.
As a part of their college preview, Golfweek also ranked the national top-ten individuals in men's and women's college golf.
The Alabama men had three representatives with the reigning National Player of the Year, sophomore Justin Thomas, ranked first. Coming in at No. 5 was junior Bobby Wyatt, while junior Cory Whitsett was ranked No. 8 by the weekly magazine.
On the women's side, the Tide had two individuals in the nation's top 10 with junior Stephanie Meadow ranked second and senior Jennifer Kirby ranked sixth. True freshman Emma Talley was also recognized as the No. 3 incoming freshmen in her class.

The Tide women's team is back in action on October 5-7 at the Liz Murphey Fall Preview, an event hosted yearly at the NCAA championship site. This year's site is the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
The Crimson Tide men's team will be back in action September 23-25 for the PING/Golfweek Preview at the Crabapple Course of the Capital City Club in Atlanta, Ga., site of the 2013 NCAA Championships.
