TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama men's golf team had four players named to the 2014 Golfweek All-America teams on Wednesday with senior Bobby Wyatt and freshman Robby Shelton garnering first-team honors.

Senior Trey Mullinax was named to Golfweek's second team while senior Cory Whitsett joined Wyatt as the first Crimson Tide men's golfers to be selected as a four-time All-Americans with honorable mention honors.

Shelton, who was also named the Phil Mickelson Award winner as the National Freshman of the Year during the NCAA Championships, finished second in the final Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index and third in the Golfstat.com rankings. He led the Crimson Tide with a 70.14 scoring average (-.86 to par) and was named the SEC Player and Freshman of the Year. He joins Bud Cauley (2009) and Justin Thomas (2012) as the only Alabama freshmen to earn first team All-America honors.

Wyatt finished second on the team with a 70.85 scoring average and won medalist honors at the SEC Championship with a record-setting 18-under-par 192. He had nine top-10 finishes as a senior and 23 rounds of par or better. Wyatt finished his Alabama career as a two-time first team All-American and a four-time All-American.

Mullinax recorded his best year in an Alabama uniform, carding a 71.22 scoring average en route to second-team honors. He was a first team All-SEC selection and won the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational while recording seven top-10 showings. Whitsett posted a 71.51 scoring average and six top-10 finishes while registering 23 round of par or better.

It marks the second straight year and the second time in school history Alabama has produced more than three All-Americans in one season and the second time in as many years it has had multiple first-team All-Americans in the same season. The Crimson Tide has now had at least one first-team All-American in seven straight seasons (Michael Thompson, 2008; Bud Cauley, 2009-11; Thomas, 2012-13; Wyatt, 2013; Whitsett, 2013).
