TUSCALOOSA – Clint Provost, a senior on the University of Alabama golf team, was named Tuesday to the Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars list of award winners.

The Pensacola, Fla., native is a 2003 and 2004 Academic All-Southeastern Conference award winner as well. (The league office has not yet released the 2005 award winners).

Provost, a business major at Alabama, was a 2002 U.S. Amateur participant and has played in every golf tournament the University of Alabama has played in the past two seasons, including this week’s NCAA Championships. Provost and his Alabama teammates begin play for the national championships on Wednesday in Maryland. He has played in 47 career tournaments at Alabama in the past four seasons and has a 73.31 career stroke average.
