STATESBORO, Ga. - The University of Alabama men's golf team gets back to action this weekend at the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational at the par-72, 6,962-yard Forest Heights Country Club.

The event tees off at 8 a.m. (CDT) on Friday, March 19 with the second round scheduled for Saturday, March 20 and the final round on Sunday, March 21.

The 31st Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern, features a field that includes seven teams in this week's Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index top 30. Along with 24th-ranked Alabama, the 15-team field includes No. 8 Florida, No. 13 South Carolina, No. 23 North Florida, No. 26 Virginia, No. 27 LSU and No. 28 Tennessee. The Tide will also see four more SEC foes with Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi and Vanderbilt also participating for a total of nine league teams.

The Alabama lineup is one of the youngest in the nation with three sophomores and two redshirt freshmen. The Crimson Tide is led by sophomores Bud Cauley and Hunter Hamrick. Cauley is ranked No. 11 in the nation in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index while Hamrick is close behind in 29th place. Cauley leads the team with a 72.15 stroke average while Hamrick follows at 72.79.

Redshirt freshmen Scott Strohmeyer is starting in the third spot of the Tide. He averages 75.25 strokes per round to rank third on the team.

Lee Knox and Hunter Slatton round out the Alabama lineup, the same lineup the Tide has used in all three spring tournaments this season. Slatton, a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., boasts a 75.76 scoring average while Knox, a native of Augusta, Ga., returns to his home state and tees it up just 79 miles from his hometown.

Following the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational, the Crimson Tide will return to Georgia on March 26-28 at the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga., at the Reynolds Landing Golf Course.
