WINDERMERE, Fla. - The Alabama men's golf team moved to within nine shots of the lead on Monday in the second round of the 2012 Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at the par-72, 7,544-yard Isleworth Country Club.

The Crimson Tide shot 4-over-par 292 in the second, which was the third-best round of the day, and remain in sixth place at 12-over 588. California maintained its team lead after shooting 7-over 295 for a 36-hole total of 3-over 579. Illinois is in second place at 582 with Texas and Florida tied for third at 7-over 583 while New Mexico is fifth at 584.

Sophomore Justin Thomas continued to lead the Crimson Tide on Monday, shooting 2-under-par 70. He is tied for fifth place individually at 1-under-par 143 and four shots off the lead of Cal's Michael Kim (5-under, 139).

Junior Bobby Wyatt carded the Tide's second-lowest round on Monday with an even-par 72. The Mobile, Ala., native is tied for 17th at 3-over 147. Juniors Cory Whitsett and Trey Mullinax both fired 3-over rounds of 75 Monday to count toward the UA team score and are tied for 28th. Tom Lovelady's 82 was dropped for the Tide score.

The 2012 Isleworth Collegiate Invitational continues with the final round on Tuesday. The Crimson Tide will begin teeing off at 7:50 a.m. (CDT) and will play with Florida and New Mexico.
