Scott Strohmeyer has been a valuable asset to the Alabama lineup during his career ... has made 21-career starts and played 64 rounds in the crimson and white ... started the final six events for Alabama in 2011-12 and was a key component of the Tide's run to an NCAA runner-up finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships ... the coaching staff's belief in the long hitter paid off with his two victories in match play at the 2012 NCAA Championships ... owns a career-stroke average of 74.26 ... with eight rounds in the 60s and 18 rounds at par or better in his career ... very long and straight off the tee ... did not start playing golf until he was 15 years old ... qualified for both the 2009 and 2010 U.S. Amateur, advancing to the round of 16 in 2010.

Strohmeyer started seven events for the Crimson Tide in 2011-12, including the final six events ... averaged 73.71 strokes per round to rank sixth on the team, but averaged 72.17 in the last five events: the Schenkel Invitational, the Linger Longer Invitational, the SEC Championship, the NCAA Athens Regional and the NCAA Championships (stroke play) ... had four top-25 finishes ... seven of his 21 rounds were played at par or better, with three rounds in the 60s ... counted toward the team total in nine of 21 rounds ... opened the season at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, finishing 57th at 18-over 234 ... returned to the Tide lineup in the second event of the spring and found his game, tying for 21st at the Schenkel Invitational and a tie for 16th at the Linger Longer Invitational ... shot 1-under par at the Schenkel with rounds of 72, 74 and a closing 3-under-par 69 ... then shot 78, 70 and 68 to finish at even par at the Linger Longer ... finished tied for 55th at the Gary Koch Invitational at 14-over 230 ... posted a tie for 19th at the SEC Championship, helping the Crimson Tide capture the league title ... counted toward the team score in the SEC second and third rounds, including a second-round 68, for a 4-over 214 ... turned in three solid rounds at the NCAA Athens Regional -- 71, 73 and 73 -- and finished tied for 21st at 4-over 217 ... fired an even-par 71 in the opening round of stroke play at the NCAA Championships ... also saw his 75 in round two count, as he finished tied for 61st at NCAAs ... his biggest contributions at NCAAs came in match play, with wins over Kent State's Taylor Pendrith (2 & 1) and California's Pace Johnson (1 up) ... lost in the finals to Texas' Cody Gribble (2 and 1).

2010-11 (SOPHOMORE):
Strohmeyer made three starts for the Crimson Tide while also playing in the Samford Intercollegiate with a team of Alabama reserves ... averaged 74.54 strokes per round with one round under par -- a 71 in the Carpet Capital Collegiate, where he shot 7-over- 223 in the season's opening event ... tied for 51st at the Olympia Fields Fighting Illini Invitational with rounds of 76, 76 and 71 to finish at 13-over 223 ... returned to the lineup to help the Crimson Tide win the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate Invitational ... fired rounds of 73, 76 and 77 to post a tie for 26th, his top finish of the season ... posted a tie for 18th at the Samford Intercollegiate with a two-round total of 148 (+4) after rounds of 73 and 75.

He played in all 31 rounds - 11 tournaments - for the Crimson Tide in 2009-10 ... recorded 2,315 strokes for a 74.68 scoring average ... fired nine rounds under par and five in the 60s ... top finish came in the rain-shortened Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate where he fired a career-best 69 to tie for 11th ... his low 54-hole score was a 2-over-par 212 at the NCAA East Regional at the Yale Course in New Haven, Conn. ... posted a 25th-place showing at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, posting a 10-over-par 226 ... opened his Alabama career with a tie for 33rd position at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, shooting rounds of 72, 74 and 76 (226) ... finished 63rd at the Ping/Golfweek Invitational ... opened the spring schedule with a 69 in the first round of the Puerto Rico Classic, where he finished tied for 62nd at 10-over-par ... also shot a 10-over 226 at the John Hyat Collegiate invitational with rounds of 74, 75 and 77 ... shot a 4-under-par 68 in the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational and followed that with a 69 (-3) in the final round to finish tied for 15th at 4-over-par 220 ... the second-round 68 remains a career best ... carded an 11-over-par 227 at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational ... carded 78, 75 and 74 to fire a 17-over-par 227 at the SEC Championship and finished tied for 53rd.

2008-09 (REDSHIRT):
Strohmeyer redshirted during his first season at the University of Alabama.

He helped Auburn High School win two Class 6A State Championships during his sophomore and junior seasons ... transferred to Auburn from Lee-Scott Prep following his freshman year ... coached by Duke Smith ... finished second individually at the 2007 Alabama State High School Championships ... 2006 participant in the World Scholar-Athlete Games ... low-career round was a 65 .... also played baseball, basketball, soccer and football in high school ... played on the 2003 Babe Ruth World Series champion team in baseball ... after playing so much baseball, took up golf and soon quit baseball for golf ... also instructed by Hank Johnson.
