Bama Messes With Texas For #13
In the 2009 BCS Championship Game top-ranked Alabama faced Texas in the Rose Bowl for the title. Bama scored ten points in the final 29 seconds of the first half highlighted by an incredible “pick six” by tackle Marcell Dareus who broke tackles and made the now famous “spin move” to give the Tide a 24-7 lead at the half and paved the way to the Tide’s 13th National Championship. On the game's fifth play, Dareus put a crushing tackle on Longhorn quarterback Colt McCoy knocking him out of the game. Heisman winner Mark Ingram rushed for 116 yards and Trent Richardson added 109 yards to seal the win and the title for the Crimson Tide.
