The Alabama football team took a step closer to opening the 2013 campaign as the Crimson Tide participated in its final two-a-day of the fall training camp on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide practiced indoors in full pads for approximately two hours in the morning and then returned for their evening session.

Earlier in the day it was announced that T.J. Yeldon will be featured on the cover of the Sportís Illustrated College Football Preview issue.

Yeldon is the fifth straight starting running back at Alabama to grace the front cover of Sports Illustrated. Glenn Coffee was on the cover after the Tide defeated Clemson to open the 2008 season. Mark Ingram was then featured twice during the 2009 campaign while Trent Richardson was on the cover in 2010 and 2011. Eddie Lacy was highlighted twice in 2012, with a cover leading up to the BCS National Championship Game and another following the Alabama win.

Alabama will have single practice days on Thursday and Friday, before heading to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the second scrimmage of training camp on Saturday.
