Countdown to Kickoff
Q&A with Amari Cooper

Dec. 29, 2013 How was your break for the holidays last week?
Cooper: It was good. I enjoyed the time with family. I hadn't seen them since the summer. What is a key aspect for the wide receivers in facing this Oklahoma defense?
Cooper: The key is for the team to play collectively and do what we do. If the offensive line does well, the quarterback does well and the running backs do well, the receivers will have a chance to do well. How is the team getting motivated to play Oklahoma?
Cooper: Obviously, our goal was to be in Pasadena, but we still feel like we have the best team in the nation. What's been keeping us motivated is that we can prove that playing in this game. We're ranked third in the nation. If we go out and handle our business, we'll most likely move up to No. 2 at the end of the season. If we win the game, a lot of people will say we have the best team. That's what's been keeping us motivated. How would you evaluate your individual performance this season?
Cooper: I think I had a pretty decent season. It wasn't great or anything that I expected it to be. It wasn't bad at the same time. There's always room for improvement. I think I can do better and better each time. I don't think I'll ever arrive to where I want to be as a player, but I can definitely improve next season.
