TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama football team worked for two hours in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts Tuesday morning, as on-campus preparations for the 2009 Allstate Sugar Bowl concluded at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility.
The Crimson Tide held seven practices in Tuscaloosa before taking three days off for Christmas. The team will reconvene in New Orleans on Saturday, Dec. 27, and will hold its first bowl workout that afternoon.
“The players have worked well,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “This has been a normal week of preparation, in terms of what we like to do. We will break for Christmas and get back together (Dec. 27th) in New Orleans and have a practice in the afternoon.”
Alabama will face Utah in the 2009 Allstate Sugar Bowl on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. The game will be nationally televised by FOX Sports beginning at 7 p.m. (CST).
