TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The football team held a two-hour practice Friday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. After working on fundamentals for the first four practices of the week, the Crimson Tide began its game plan for its upcoming appearance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, where it will face the Oklahoma Sooners. The game will kick off in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Thursday, Jan. 2, at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Alabama (11-1) and Oklahoma (10-2) have met four times in their storied histories, but will be meeting for the first time since 2003. The Sooners own a 2-1-1 series lead over the Tide with two of the games taking place in the postseason.
Alabama will hold three additional practices before breaking for the holidays on Monday evening.
