TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama encourages all Crimson Tide fans who are unable to attend the 2006 PetroSun Independence Bowl on December 28, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to participate in a special ticket donation program that will send members of the military stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, and JRTC (Joint Readiness Training Center)/Fort Polk to the game between the Crimson Tide and Oklahoma State University.
"This is a great way for our fans to reach out to the many military personnel in the ArkLaTex Area and show our admiration and support for their sacrifice and service to our nation," said UA Director of Athletics Mal Moore. "We hope our fans will join with us in this effort."
Donated tickets will be allocated from the $25 price level. Fans interested in buying tickets for military donation may order online at www.rolltide.com, or call 205-348-BAMA (2262). Ticket windows at the Athletic Ticket Office in Coleman Coliseum are open MondayÂ-Friday, 9 a.m.Â-5 p.m. Telephone hours are 8 a.m.Â-8 p.m. MondayÂ-Friday and 8 a.m.Â-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The 2006 PetroSun Independence Bowl will kick off at 3:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, December 28, at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.
