Brodie Croyle

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- University of Alabama quarterback Brodie Croyle had successful surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder Thursday afternoon at HealthSouth Medical Center in Birmingham.  The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews.

"Brodie's surgery went extremely well," said Dr. Andrews.  "He had a partially dislocated left shoulder and it was repaired by a combination of arthroscopic surgery and open reconstruction.  We expect him to have a full recovery and be ready to lead the Crimson Tide next season."

Croyle is expected to participate in non-contact drills during spring practice which starts on Feb. 23.  The annual A-Day game is set for March 20, 2004.

Croyle, who will be a junior next season, Croyle completed 182 of 341 pass attempts for 2,303 yards and 16 touchdowns.  His 341 attempts set the school record and his 16 TDs tied the school record held by current Tide head coach Mike Shula.
