The No. 13 Alabama football team practiced for two hours in full pads Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa in preparation for their January 2 game against No. 18 Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl.

Head coach Mike Shula characterized the Tide, which hadn't practiced since last Saturday, as having "good energy, but a little rusty."

"We wanted to get at least one more practice in so the guys wouldn't be as rusty when we get going next week," Shula said.  "The focus today that was different from last week was we added some work in against Texas Tech.  So we were out here a little longer but we still got a lot of good work in against ourselves.  Then we kept the younger guys out for an extra twenty minutes for one-on-ones, our inside run drill, our seven-on-seven pass drill and our team drill."

The Crimson Tide will take the week off for final exams before returning to the practice field next Friday.
