TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide football team practice for 75 minutes in helmets and shorts Thursday afternoon, putting the finishing touches on its preparation for Saturday's game with arch-rival Auburn.

The Crimson Tide practiced behind closed doors at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility on Thursday.

"We've had a good week," Alabama head coach Dennis Franchione said.  "Today was another good day.  We cleaned things up the right way.  This has been a typical week for us.  Our guys do a good job every week being business-like.  They have done the things they need to do to be ready to play."

Franchione said he was going to wait until next week to name the Crimson Tide's permanent captains for the 2002 season.  He said that senior class would serve as captains for Saturday home finale in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The home finale will kickoff at 2:40 p.m. (CST) and will be nationally televised by CBS Sports.
