TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The No. 8 University of Alabama football team wrapped up a good week of preparation Thursday evening for Saturday's Southeastern Conference game with the No. 11 Auburn Tigers.
The Crimson Tide worked in helmets and sweats for about 90 minutes on Thursday putting the finishing touches on its game plan for Saturday's game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
"We went a little longer today just to cover a couple of more things," Alabama head coach Mike Shula said. "We got some really good work on our down and distance stuff and the crowd noise. You take for granted some times, even though we've been in other stadiums, offensively you think you've got it down because you've played so many games. We have such a young group and we worked really hard on that today and hopefully it will pay off for us on Saturday. "The guys are really into it and there was a lot of energy out there today as you might think.
Alabama captains for the Auburn game are Brodie Croyle (offense), DeMeco Ryans (defense) and Charlie Peprah (special teams).
The Crimson Tide will hold a brief walk through on Friday in Tuscaloosa before departing for Montgomery later in the afternoon.
The 70th Alabama-Auburn game will kickoff at 2:37 p.m. Saturday afternoon and the game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports.
