TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team returned outdoors to practice for two hours Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. The Crimson Tide continues to prepare for its Saturday showdown with Western Carolina.

"Our players practiced pretty well yesterday and did a good job today," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "Every moment is a new moment and a different challenge. There has got to be a certain amount of something that comes from within you because you want to accomplish something of some significance, and if it doesn't come from you, then that means you are kind of satisfied with being average. Our team has not been that way all year long. They have always responded the right way, and I am pleased with the way they have responded this week."

Alabama enters the Western Carolina game having won 17 nonconference contests in a row and sports a 24-3 record under Saban. The Crimson Tide is a perfect 3-0 this season against out of conference opponents, outscoring the opposition, 116-21.

Alabama and Western Carolina will meet on Saturday for an 11:21 a.m. kickoff. Mike Morgan will serve as the play-by-play announcer, with Chris Doering at his side as the color analyst. The two will be joined by sideline reporter Jill Montgomery in a game that will be broadcast by SEC Network.
