The University of Alabama football team worked out for just over an hour and a half this afternoon at the Thomas-Drew practice fields as the team continued its preparation for this weekend's Top 5 match-up with the LSU Tigers.
The Tide worked out in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts and head coach Mike Shula has been pleased with this week's efforts.
"We've had two good practices," said Shula. "I think the guys are really getting zeroed in and they're going to have to because (LSU) is really good."
Shula said that guard Antoine Caldwell practiced today and that freshman center Evan Cardwell will be ready to go if needed behind starting center Taylor Britt.
The Tide will continue with practice on Thursday before having a brief final walk-through on Friday.
Saturday's kickoff between the third-ranked Tide and the fifth-ranked Tigers is scheduled for 2:40 p.m. (CT) and will be televised live on CBS.
ESPN's College Gameday will also be in attendance this weekend, televising their show live from the Quad beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CT) Saturday. ESPN will begin televising on Friday with the morning show Cold Pizza which will air live from 7-9 a.m. (CT). The Total Sports Network will then tape various segments for Friday's Sportscenter from the Quad between 3:45-5:30 p.m. (CT). Fans are encouraged to show up on the quad throughout the weekend.
