2005 SEC Defensive Player of the Week vs. Mississippi State
2006 (Junior): Led the team with six interceptions and three fumble recoveries.He went on to finish fourth on the team with 71 tackles to go along with one sack, one caused fumble, six pass breakups and three quarterback pressures. Castille tallied two interceptions in a game against both Vanderbilt and Tennessee. He also had 10 tackles and two pass breakups against the Vols. He had 10 tackles, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry against Ole Miss. He also had interceptions against Oklahoma State in the PetroSun Independence Bowl and Arkansas.
2005 (Sophomore): Simeon played in 11 of the Tide’s 12 games with starts against Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and Florida. He finished with 28 tackles, two sacks, seven pass break-ups and two caused fumbles. He earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after getting two tackles, an interception and a blocked punt against Mississippi State. He also intercepted a pass against South Carolina. Simeon earned the “Bobby Johns Most Improved Defensive Back” award following spring practice.
2004 (Freshman): Simeon played in 11 of the Tide's 12 games, missing playing time against Arkansas with a bruised right knee.He finished the season with 14
tackles, two stops behind the line for six yards and one sack for five yards.He had two interceptions for 34 yards and four pass break-ups. Simeon had an interception in his first collegiate game against Utah State.
Prep: Briarwood Christian All-American defensive back Simeon Castille helped lead his school to the class 5A state title in 2003. He was a first-team USA Today All-American and Super All-State pick after rushing for 540 yards and six touchdowns on 98 carries in his senior year. Castille was chosen to the Birmingham News' Super Seniors list.He added 21 receptions for 350 yards and one TD. On the defensive side of the ball, Simeon had 60 tackles and nine interceptions, two of which he returned for touch-downs. Simeon announced his commitment to the Tide on national TV while playing in the U.S. Army All-America Game in San Antonio, Texas. He was listed by SuperPrep as the No. 11 player in Alabama and the No. 30 defensive back nationally and was the ASWA class 5A Back of the Year.He was also a third-team member of the Fox Sports Net All-South team.
Personal: Simeon is the son of Jeremiah and Jean Castille. His father , Jeremiah (DB, 1979-82, All-American) played for Coach Bryant at Alabama.His brother Tim (FB, 2003-06) also played for the Tide. He has a younger brother, Caleb and younger sisters, Leah, Rachel and Danielle.
