SUNDAY REWIND: Alabama 29, Tennessee 9

Here is a look back at Alabama’s 29-9 win over Tennessee on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. The Crimson Tide has back-to-back wins over the Volunteers, including last year’s 41-17 win in Tuscaloosa. Alabama has won two straight over Tennessee for the first time since 1991-92.  In addition, Alabama has won three of the last four meetings with Tennessee, dating back to 2005.

By The Numbers:  A look at some the notable numbers from Saturday’s win over the Volunteers.

5       Junior running back has Glen Coffee has scored five of six rushing touchdowns away from home this season. Coffee had 19       carries for 78 yards and one touchdown last night in Knoxville. Coffee’s 4-yard run on fourth-and-one from the UT 3 yard line gave Alabama a 13-3 halftime lead.

38    Alabama has averaged 38.25 points per game in four games away from Tuscaloosa.  The Tide has scored 153 points in wins over Clemson, Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee.  UA scored a season-high 49 points on the road at Arkansas on Sept. 20.  The fewest points on the road were the 29 points at Tennessee on Saturday, which still resulted in 20-point win.

86    Roy Upchurch had a game-high 86 rushing yards for Alabama on Saturday against Tennessee.  His previous high was 91 yards in the Tide’s 49-14 win at Arkansas on Sept. 20. Against Tennessee, Upchurch scored on a 4-yard run with 9:43 left in the fourth quarter to give the Tide a 29-3 lead.  He has scored one rushing TD in all three SEC road games this season.

103   Alabama freshman wide receiver Julio Jones had six catches for 103 yards in the win over Tennessee. It was the first 100-yard game by an Alabama receiver this season. He had two key catches on the Crimson Tide’s lone TD drive in the first half, hauling in a 19-yard catch on first down from the Tide 34-yard line and then adding a 35-yard catch on the next play to give UA a first down at the UT 12.
