TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-University of Alabama football head coach Mike Shula announced the three captains on Thursday for the homecoming game this weekend at Bryant-Denny Stadium against Florida International.
Following practice Shula named Tim Castille, Chris Harris and Le'Ron McClain as captains for the 86th annual homecoming contest. It will be the second straight week and fourth time this season that McClain has been a captain. He was an offensive captain twice and a special teams captain in the season opener against Hawai'i. Castille will captain the offense for the second time. He was also a captain for the Vanderbilt game. Harris will be a captain for the first time this season.
Castille, a senior fullback from Birmingham, will captain the offense. He leads the team with four rushing touchdowns this season. He scored Alabama's only touchdown last week against Tennessee and now has scored a rushing touchdown in each of the last two games. He has 26 carries for 71 yards and four touchdowns on the year. He also has five receptions for 30 yards in eight games.
Harris, a senior defensive lineman from Tuscaloosa, will represent the defense on homecoming. He has played in all eight games this season with eight tackles and one tackle for a loss. He has played 102 snaps this season and now has appeared in 39 games in his career.
McClain, a senior fullback from Northport, also plays significant time on special teams. He has three tackles on special teams this season. He is the team's third leading receiver with 13 catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He caught the game-winning two-yard touchdown pass in overtime against Ole Miss last. He has also carried the ball seven times for 27 yards on the year.
Saturday's game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by the Crimson Tide Sports Network. The game can be found on DirectTV channel 797 or Dish Network channel 456. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:07 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
