TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team practiced in full pads for two hours in preparation for its Southeastern Conference Western Division matchup against Mississippi State. The two teams will meet under the lights on ESPN for homecoming.

"This should be a good game," said senior Jesse Williams. "We've played a lot of tough teams throughout the season. This team is obviously one of the better ones that we will face. It should be exciting."

Earlier in the day, Williams was named a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Williams (Brisbane, Australia) has recorded 10 tackles with two quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal.

AJ McCarron was also recognized for his standout play against Tennessee by being nominated for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week. McCarron threw for a career-high 306 yards and tied a career best with four touchdowns.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. (CDT) and will be televised nationally by ESPN with Brad Nessler and Todd Blackledge calling the game and Holly Rowe reporting from the sideline.
