TUSCALOOSA, Ala. Following his team’s 24-point win over No. 20 Tennessee and one of the best games of his career, Alabama junior quarterback John Parker Wilson was named Lindy’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Wilson, who helped the Tide offense rack up over 500 yards of offense in the win over the Vols on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium, earned the honor after his record-setting day. Wilson set career marks in completions (32) and yards (363) while throwing for three scores without an interception. His 32 completions set a new school record that had stood for 18 years.
The game was Wilson’s sixth with over 250 yards passing and his second career 300-yard day. He moved to fourth on the UA list for pass attempts in a career with 689, improved to fourth in career completions with 396 and moved into fifth in the Alabama career passing yardage list with 4,681 yards.
The Tide is off this weekend and hosts No. 3 LSU in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Nov. 3. Game time is set for 4 p.m. and will be seen nationally on CBS.
