TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The second-ranked Alabama football team held its final full-scale practice on Thursday before Tennessee comes to town this weekend with a 90-minute workout in shells inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility.
The SEC showdown with the Volunteers is the last of eight straight games before the season's only bye week Oct. 29. Alabama has had a good week of practice leading up to the annual `Third Week in October' game against Tennessee.
"Practice this week, from a team aspect, things were excellent," Alabama running back Trent Richardson said. "This is one of our best weeks of practice. Everyone has stayed very focused and really done a good job of staying on task."
The Crimson Tide has won four straight in the series dating back to head coach Nick Saban's first season in Tuscaloosa, when a short-handed Alabama team posted a 41-17 win at Bryant-Denny. The Tide won last season's game in Knoxville, 41-10.
Alabama will have a short walk-through on Friday before departing for the team hotel. The game is scheduled for a 6:21 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2 from Bryant-Denny Stadium. Mark Jones will handle the play-by-play duties while Ed Cunningham will be the color analyst and Jeannine Edwards is on the sidelines.
