TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- Prince Hall was announced as the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week by the league office on Monday. He helped lead Alabama to a 26-23 overtime victory with a career day against Ole Miss last Saturday.

Hall finished the game with a career-high eight tackles and two tackles for a loss. The eight tackles were second on the team behind Simeon Castille's 10 stops. Seven of Hall's eight tackles were solo tackles. In his third career start, Hall had two tackles on second and third down of Ole Miss' opening drive that helped force a three-and-out series after the Rebels gained seven yards on their first play. After Alabama tied the game at 13-13 late in the third quarter, Ole Miss had second down and three to go, but Hall made two straight solo stops to force a punt.

For the season Hall ranks third on the team with 36 tackles. He is tied for the team lead with 24 solo stops and leads the squad with 5.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks. He also has one pass breakup and two fumble recoveries, including a 50-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown against Florida.

The honor was the third conference award for the Crimson Tide this season. Antoine Caldwell was named Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 4 and Leigh Tiffin was the Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 11.

Hall and the Crimson Tide enter Saturday's contest at Tennessee with a 5-2 record, 2-2 mark in the SEC. The game in Knoxville will begin at 2:34 p.m. CT and will be televised by CBS.
