Alabama and Mississippi played the 1963 Sugar Bowl on a snow-covered Tulane Stadium in New Orleans. Tim Davis kicked four field goals (31, 46, 22 and 48 yards) as the Crimson Tide posted a 12-7 win over the highly-favored Rebels.
 

What former Alabama running back tied the single-game school record for most rushing touchdowns against the Rebels?
Santonio Beard had five rushing touchdowns in the Tide’s 42-7 win over the Rebels on Oct. 12, 2002, in Bryant-Denny Stadium.  Beard had two rushing touchdowns (25 and 35 yards) in the first quarter and added three more rushing TDs (9, 2 and 10 yards) in the second half to tie Shaun Alexander’s school record with five.


Who played in the first prime-time regular season college football telecast?
Alabama beat Mississippi 33-32 on Oct. 4, 1969, at Legion Field in Birmingham in the first primetime telecast of a college football game. The game remains today as one of the greatest games in SEC football lore as the two teams combined for 1,099 yards of offense. UA quarterback Scott Hunter (300 yards) and UM quarterback Archie Manning (436) threw for 736 passing yards in a game that saw four lead changes and two ties.


Who holds the Alabama record for most touchdown passes in a single game?
Gary Hollingsworth threw five touchdown passes in Alabama’s 62-27 win over Mississippi on Oct. 7, 1989, at Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss.  Hollingsworth completed 25-of-43 passes for 363 yards and led the Tide to one of the most improbable wins in school history. The Rebels held a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, but saw the Tide score the next 62 points, including a 41-point second quarter en route to the win.

 
What pair of Alabama backs rushed for 100 yards against Ole Miss in 1980?
Linnie Patrick (111) and Billy Jackson (108) combined for 219 rushing yards as the top-ranked Crimson Tide posted a 59-35 win over the Rebels in Memorial Stadium in Jackson on Sept. 20, 1980.
