The University of Alabama football team wrapped up its final practice of the week in preparation for this weekend's Homecoming game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.

"We had a good practice, but the main thing for us right now is that we have to great focus from hear on out until kickoff," said head coach Mike Shula.

Shula stressed the importance of the team beginning to focus on the Golden Eagles despite the distractions of Homecoming week.

"It's a special weekend for this university with Homecoming and there's a lot of things going on and we've got to make sure our football team is staying focused on the job at hand and it's a big one, with Southern Miss coming in," commented Shula.  "We've just got to be on top of our assignments.  These last 48 hours, it's less than that now, you can get a lot of things done mentally in thinking about the game and your assignments and still find ways to help yourself give this team a chance to win."

The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT.
