The University of Alabama football team continued its preparation for this weekend's Homecoming game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles on the coolest day of the season so far.

"We've had two pretty good practices," said head coach Mike Shula.  "I think the guys enjoyed the fact that it was a little bit cooler, I know the bigger guys did, they were moving around better.  We still made some mistakes today that we've got to get cleaned up for sure tomorrow as we try to tie everything in for our Thursday practice."

Even though Homecoming distractions are in the air, Shula said the team is focused on Southern Miss due to being either in the classroom or on the football field but as the weekend draws closer it will feel a little more like Homecoming.

"You want to take a lot of pride in playing well in front of your home crowd, with people coming back for your Homecoming game," added Shula.

The Tide will go through one final practice on Thursday before having a walk-through on Friday, its final preparation day before Saturday's game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT with the game being televised on a pay-per-view basis.
