The University of Alabama football team worked out for just over an hour and a half this afternoon in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts in preparation for Saturday's showdown at Ole Miss.

Once again, the Tide worked out on the field turf to help prepare itself for the turf at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.

"I thought practice went pretty well today," said head coach Mike Shula.  "We've been working both groups on the field turf just to get ourselves ready for the game.  We'll have tomorrow's practice, move the ball stuff; just keep talking to the players about the early start and how important it's going to be to get our rest tonight, tomorrow night and Friday night because we're going to be getting up early, pre-game meal early and a long bus ride.  Obviously it's going to be important for us to get over there and make sure we're mentally ready to go when the ball's kicked off."

The Tide will continue its preparation tomorrow before departing on Friday for Mississippi.
