TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama football team practiced for 90 minutes in shells inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility on Thursday, putting the finishing touches in its game plan for Saturday’s SEC Western Division showdown with the Mississippi Rebels.
“Obviously this is a big game in the SEC West,” Alabama head football coach Nick Saban said this week. “Ole Miss has a very good team, lots of good players. They had a great year last year and have played very well so far this year, except for one game when they were on a short week.
“Playing on the road is going to be a special challenge for our team. It’s always a challenge to stay consistent in your performance and remember to do the things that you need to do so you can play well. I think this time of the season is a challenge for the players, everybody gets nicked up a little bit, beat up a little bit, so you have to keep on keeping on and that’s what we’re working to do and our preparation has gone well.”
Alabama meets Mississippi on Saturday, Oct. 10 in a nationally televised game by CBS Sports. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. (CDT) with Craig Bolerjack and Steve Beuerlein calling the action.
The game will also be aired on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Eli Gold, Phil Savage and Barry Krauss. The game can be heard locally on WFFN-FM (95.3) in Tuscaloosa.
