BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Alabama senior defensive end Bobby Greenwood has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.

Greenwood had three total tackles, including a sack, with a pass deflection and a quarterback pressure in Alabama’s 17-14 win over Kentucky on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Tide allowed Kentucky just 35 rushing yards on 20 attempts with no carry over eight yards. Greenwood’s sack came in the first quarter for a loss of six yards on a third down play, forcing a Wildcats’ punt.

Alabama leads the SEC and ranks second in the nation in rush defense (50.8 ypg).

In six games this season, Greenwood has 10 tackles, three quarterback pressures, one quarterback sack and one pass break-up for the Crimson Tide.
