The University of Alabama football team continued its preparation for this weekend's game in Lexington, Kentucky as the Tide hits the road for the second time this season against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Head coach Mike Shula was pleased with the day's practice despite a sluggish start.

"Practice started slow, but I think it got better at the end," commented Shula.  "We made some mistakes early but it really got better later and that was good."

Shula also commented on the timing of the game and how it was the earliest game of the season for the Tide and the team was going to have to adjust.

"This week is important because it's a road game and it's an early game," added Shula.  "We haven't played early at all so we're just going to try and get (the team) focused that way."

The Tide will continue its preparation tomorrow with one final practice and will leave for Lexington on Friday where it will have a walk-through at Commonwealth Stadium that afternoon.

The game will be televised on Jefferson Pilot Sports with kickoff scheduled for 11:33 a.m. CT.
