TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama football team ended its week of practice in preparation for the upcoming non-conference game against Duke University on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Crimson Tide worked out in shorts and helmets on Thursday.
"Today's practice went pretty well," said head coach Mike Shula. "Guys are moving around good and getting a better feel for Duke. It is a team we haven't seen and they do different things. We have to be ready for all the stuff we have seen on tape and some other things they have seen from other teams. They like to blitz on defense. Our defense has to be prepared for their offense, which does a lot of misdirection things. We have practiced well and that has to show up on Saturday."
Following practice Shula announced John Parker Wilson, Jeremy Clark and Bryan Kilpatrick as captains for Saturday's contest, which will be televised by Crimson Tide Sports Marketing on a pay-per-view basis at 6:07 p.m. CT.
Wilson, a sophomore quarterback from Hoover, has completed 84-of-139 for 1,153 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He has a completion percentage of 60.4 and a pass efficiency rating of 140.97. He is fourth in the SEC in total offense and fifth in passing yards per game.
Clark, a senior defensive tackle from Daphne, has seven tackles and one pass breakup this season. He has started all five games and played over 20 snaps in each contest. He had three tackles at Arkansas and two against Vanderbilt.
Kilpatrick, a safety from Monroeville, has seen action in all five games. He has four tackles and one pass breakup. He has played a total of 43 snaps.
Saturday's game can be seen on DirecTV channel 797 and Dish Network channel 454. Viewers outside the state of Alabama and North Carolina can watch the game on ESPN GamePlan. The game will also be shown on TV Delay Sunday at 4 p.m. on Comcast Sports Southeast and at 7 p.m. on WVUA Channel 7.
