Harry Gilmer averaged 36 yards per rushing attempt in Alabama's 60-19 win over Kentucky on Nov. 3, 1945 in Louisville. Gilmer ran six times for a school-record 216 yards in the win over UK. Gilmer's single-game record has since been broken, but still ranks as the 7th highest single-game rushing total in school history. Gilmer also had a 95-yard touchdown run in the win over the Wildcats, a mark that stood as an Alabama record from 1945-1991. 

What Alabama player scored four touchdowns in the Tide's 35-7 win over Kentucky in 1996?

Dennis Riddle scored four touchdowns, including three rushing touchdowns, leading the Crimson Tide to a 35-7 win over the Wildcats on Oct. 5, 1996 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

What two Alabama players have recorded 100-yard kickoff returns against Kentucky?

Willie Shelby and Tyrone Prothro both had 100-yard kickoff returns against the Wildcats. Willie Shelby returned the second half kickoff 100 yards in the Tide's 28-14 win at Lexington on Sept. 22, 1973.  The Crimson Tide trailed 14-0 at halftime and Shelby's kickoff return sparked the Tide to the win. Prothro matched that feat 21 years later with a 100-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter of the Tide's 45-17 win in Lexington.  Alabama has had six 100-yard kickoff returns in its history.

The seven former UK players to work for Bryant at Alabama are Charlie Bradshaw, Jerry Claiborne, Phil Cutchin, Ralph Genito, Dude Hennessey, Pat James and Howard Schnellenberger.  Bryant served as head coach at both Kentucky and Alabama during his illustrious coaching career.

Who caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the Tide's 31-27 win over Kentucky in Lexington in 1988?

Vince Sutton's 3-yard touchdown pass to Gene Newberry with 10 seconds left in the game gave Alabama a 31-27 come-from-behind win at Commonwealth Stadium on Oct. 1, 1988.  Trailing 27-24, Alabama drove 86 yards in the final two minutes to cap a 24-point fourth quarter.  UK led 17-0 at halftime and 24-7 at the end of three quarters before the Tide rallied for the win.
