TUSCALOOSA, Ala.--The Heisman Trophy will make a guest appearance at Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad Saturday prior to the Alabama-South Carolina football game.
The Heisman Trophy will be on display as part of the ESPN the Magazine series of exhibits on the Quad. Fans can take pictures of themselves standing beside the trophy, but no one is allowed to touch it.
The ESPN exhibits and the Coca-Cola inflatables will open on the Quad at 2 p.m., including the usual activities of throwing a football, kicking at mock goal posts and diving for the goalline with bungees attached. In addition to sampling of Coke products, free temporary, stick-on Big Al tattoos and shakers will be distributed while supplies last.
Tom Roberts, Eli Gold and Ken Stabler host the Jeep pre-game radio show on the Crimson Tide Sports Network from the stage in the shadow of Denny Chimes starting at 3 p.m.
Former quarterback Tyler Watts will sign autographs in the Alabama Power Legend tent between 2:30-3:30 p.m.
The Alabama women's gymnastics team will sign autographs from 3:15-4:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Dairy team tent
Admission to Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad is free. Numerous food and refreshment vendors will again be available along Sixth Avenue prior to the game. ScreenTech will be selling officially licensed Bama gear from the Quad and game programs will also be available.
Kickoff for the game is 5 p.m. in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game is televised nationally by espn2.
