TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama football team wrapped up its preparation for Florida with its final practice of the week in Tuscaloosa on Thursday.
Following practice head coach Mike Shula announced Keith Brown, Simeon Castille and DJ Hall as captains for Saturday's contest, which will be televised by CBS at 2:30 p.m. CT. It will be the second straight game that the Crimson Tide will be showcased on CBS and first time they have played back-to-back conference road games since 2000.
Brown, a junior wide receiver from Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., leads the SEC with 6.5 receptions per game and is second with 102.5 receiving yards per contest. He has tallied 26 catches for 410 yards and two touchdowns this season. He is among the national leaders, ranking sixth in yards per game and 11th in catches.
Castille, a junior defensive back from Birmingham, is tied for the league lead with three interceptions. He also has 14 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He has helped lead the Crimson Tide defense which ranks fourth nationally with a +7 turnover margin.
Hall leads the squad with a 25.0 average on kick returns with three returns for 75 yards. He is also the second leading receiver with 11 grabs for 243 yards and three touchdowns. He has scored a touchdown in all three games he has played in and is averaging 22.1 yards per catch.
"I thought we had a good day today on both sides of the ball," said Shula. "It has been good all week. The guys have worked hard. We realize that we are behind each other and even though only 11 guys go out there, the rest of us will be pulling for each other. We know it is going to be loud but we are going to have as many Alabama fans down there as possible."
Saturday's contest in Gainesville, Fla. is slated for 2:30 p.m. CT and will feature Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson calling the game from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
