TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? The University of Alabama football team returned to the practice field Tuesday afternoon as preparations begin for Saturday’s nationally televised game against the Florida State Seminoles at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Crimson Tide worked for two hours in full gear at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility as temperatures reached 90 degrees in Tuscaloosa on a humid afternoon.

Alabama (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and Florida State (2-1, 0-1 ACC) will be meeting for the fourth time in history this Saturday in Jacksonville.  The two teams last met on Oct. 12, 1974 as Alabama pulled out an 8-7 win in Tuscaloosa.

The Alabama-FSU game will be aired by CBS Sports with Verne Lundquist (play-by-play), Gary Danielson (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter) calling the action.  The kickoff time is set for 4 p.m. (CDT).

*Several members of the Crimson Tide football team met with the media following Tuesday’s practice. Below are the comments of junior quarterback John Parker Wilson (Hoover), senior wide receiver DJ Hall (Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.) and senior defensive back Simeon Castille (Birmingham).

Junior quarterback John Parker Wilson:

On Playing Florida State
We are excited to play a team like Florida State.  It’s a chance to play someone outside of our conference.  It gives us an opportunity to go against a team from the ACC and see what it’s like.”

On FSU defense:
“They are fast, strong and physical.  They have one of the top recruiting classes year in and year out. We know they are going to be really good athletes.”

Senior wide receiver DJ Hall:

On Playing Florida State
“This is a big game for me.  I’ve wanted to play Florida State since I came to the University of Alabama.  I grew up a Florida State fan, so there is a lot at stake for me.  I know a lot of the players and lot of my friends are Florida State players or fans.   The little league (football) team I played for was the Seminoles. I am glad to be here at Alabama and looking forward to the game on Saturday.”

Senior defensive back Simeon Castille:

On Tuesday’s practice following an off day
“We had a good day’s work today.  We just have to keep it up.  We could not afford to have a bad practice today because we did not practice yesterday, so we are one day behind.  So it was good that we came out and had a good practice today. I could definitely tell with the rest that we had, my body needed it.  I think everybody did.  The break was much needed and it did everybody well.

On FSU Offense
“They have a good running back (Antone Smith) that runs the ball hard.  They have another bigger guy (Jamaal Edwards) that they will pound you with.  (Smith) has a lot of speed.  The wide receivers are very good.  They like (Preston Parker). He is a good all-around athlete.  He is their punt returner and good on special teams.  They have this 6-6 wide receiver (Greg Carr) they just throw the ball up to and let him go get it.  I can’t wait.  This is going to be a great game for both universities.  I can’t wait until Saturday.”
