TUSCALOOSA, Ala.--A series of new interactive games, activities for youngsters and even an appearance by the Heisman Trophy highlight Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad prior to the Alabama-Southern Mississippi football game, Crimson Tide Sports Marketing General Manager Butch Henry said Friday.

"Coca-Cola, whose long-running corporate support of Crimson Tide football goes back over 40 years, has worked very closely with the University in an attempt to broaden the appeal of Alabama football as an event for all ages." Henry said. Their involvement is greatly enhancing Kickoff on the Quad."

"The addition of these games enhances the experience for Crimson Tide fans and encourages fans to arrive earlier in the day, thus improving the pre-game traffic flow.  We hear from more and more fans that Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad is the meeting place before the game," Henry said.

Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad starts three hours before kickoff prior to each Tuscaloosa home game.

Coca-Cola's interactive games are free to the public and include a Quarterback Toss, a Field Goal Kick and the Get to the Goal Line Run.  The Quarterback Run enables fans to throw a football at a target and have the toss measured by a radar gun.  The Goal Line Run is a dive for the goal line while affixed to a bungee cord held by Velcro straps.

In addition to the inflatable games, Coca-Cola is providing booths for face painting tattoos and distribution of complimentary shakers and hand fans.  All activities are free to the public.

The traditional Quad experiences including appearances by Eli Gold, Ken Stabler and Tom Roberts on the pre-game Crimson Radio Network broadcast at 4 p.m., food and beverage court and other sponsored booths continue.  Rebel Steiner, an end in 1945-49, will appear in the McPherson Oil Fuelman/Waste Management Legends Tent  at 3:45 p.m. and the gymnastics team is signing autographs in the Mayfield Daily Team Tent at 4:30 p.m.

Also on tap for this week are exhibits from ESPN the Magazine including a Suzuki booth featuring the Heisman Trophy display.  Tide fans can take their picture standing next to the legendary trophy.
