Crimson Tide Remains Focused on Home Opener

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The top-ranked Crimson Tide football team reached the midway point of its week of preparation leading up to the 2013 home opener on Wednesday, holding a two-hour practice at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. Alabama will take on Colorado State at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. CDT on ESPN2.

The Rams, led by former Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, enter Saturday's contest fresh off of a win against Cal Poly, 34-17. Colorado State is 1-2 on the season after dropping its season opener, 41-27, in Denver against Colorado and then falling, 30-27, at Tulsa on Sept. 7. The Rams are 85th nationally in scoring defense (29.3 ppg) and 93rd in total defense (434.3 ypg) while ranking 67th (29.3 ppg) in scoring offense and 85th in total offense (367.7 ypg).
