TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - University of Alabama head football coach Mike Shula announced Tuesday that three Crimson Tide football players will be sidelined for varying lengths of time due to injuries requiring surgery.

Sophomore safety Corey Reamer (Hoover, Ala./Hoover HS) and freshman running back Terry Grant (Lumberton, Mississippi/Lumberton HS) are scheduled to undergo surgeries on Thursday. Reamer will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee while Grant will have surgery to repair instability in his right shoulder. Reamer is expected to miss several weeks. Grant will miss the remainder of the season, but is expected to be able to return in time for spring practice.

Senior receiver Tyrone Prothro (Heflin, Alabama/Cleburne County High School) underwent surgery on his left leg on Monday as part of Prothro's ongoing rehabilitation from a broken leg suffered on October 1, 2005. Due to this procedure, Prothro will not return to action this season.
