The University of Alabama junior running back Kenneth Darby was named this week's Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office.
Darby recorded a season high 145 yards in Alabama's 37-14 victory over South Carolina in Columbia. He recorded a 22-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to push the Tide's lead to 30-7 while helping the Tide roll up 338 rushing yards.
The award is Darby's first this season and the second in his career. He was named the SEC's Offensive Player of the Week in 2004 following his 200-yard performance against Mississippi State.
It is also the Tide's second straight SEC Player of the Week as junior wide receiver Tyrone Prothro was named the league's Special Teams player of the week last week.
