TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- Former Alabama running back Bobby Humphrey and the Crimson Tide softball team are scheduled to appear at Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad prior to Saturday's Alabama-Northern Illinois football game.
Humphrey, who earned All-America honors in 1986-87, will appear in the Legends Tent, signing autographs from 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. Humphrey is currently the head coach of the Birmingham Steeldogs team in arena football.
The Tide softball team, coming off a regional championship last May, will sign autographs in the Mayfield Dairy Team Tent from 4:15 - 5:00 p.m.. Kickoff for the game is 6:05 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The U. S. Army Climbing Wall makes a return visit to the Quad and Verizon Wireless will again be providing free shakers. In addition, Woods and Water will have an outdoor exhibit.
Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad begins at 3 p.m. The Crimson Tide Sports Network pre-game show begins at 4 p.m. with Eli Gold, Ken Stabler and Tom Roberts.
There is no admission fee charged for Coca-Cola Kickoff on the Quad. The Coca-Cola inflatables will take a week off and return for the Arkansas game, Sept. 27.
Power Restored for Kick Off on the Quad
The power supply to the Quad was temporarily interrupted on Saturday morning prior to the Alabama-Kentucky game due to unforeseen electrical problems. Similar problems are not anticipated in the future. The University of Alabama welcomes fans to campus for all pre-game festivities. Kick Off on the Quad will continue as planned beginning three hours before kick off of each home football game.
