TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team practiced for two hours in full pads Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility in anticipation of the first road game of the year on Saturday against Duke in Durham, N.C.
Head coach Nick Saban’s focus for his team this week continues to be on improving and playing with more consistency as the Crimson Tide approaches Southeastern Conference play.
“What we’ve been trying to emphasize is that if you’re going to be a high-functioning program that there are certain things that you have to do and that will create the right habits for you to be consistent as a player,” Saban said after Wednesday’s practice. “That’s what will give you an advantage when you compete in the game.”
Alabama will hold the week’s final practice on Thursday before leaving for Durham on Friday. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 2:30 p.m. (CDT) and will be televised on ABC.
