SUNDAY REWIND:  Alabama vs. Western Kentucky

Here is a look back at Alabama’s 41-7 win over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Saturday, Sept. 13 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

TUSCALOOSA – The Crimson Tide of Alabama (3-0) established dominance early on the way to a 41-7 rout of Western Kentucky (1-2) before a sellout crowd of 92,138 on Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium.  John Parker Wilson threw for 215 yards while completing 17 of 27 pass attempts for two touchdowns with one interception to lead the Alabama offense.  The Crimson Tide rushed for 281 yards in the game with Glen Coffee rushing for 97 yards on 11 carries – all in the first half – as the Tide raced to a 31-7 halftime lead and never looked back.

Wilson broke one Alabama career record and tied another in the game, setting a new mark for career total offense (6,321 yards) and notching his 41st career touchdown pass, tying Brodie Croyle (2002-05).  Wilson also moved into second place on the Crimson Tide’s career passing yardage list with 6,119 yards, trailing Croyle’s total of 6,382.  The Alabama defense was stout most of the game, allowing only 42 yards rushing (158 yards of total offense) while holding their opponent to less than 100 rushing yards for the third consecutive game this season and the fourth straight game overall (including a 75-yard output by Colorado in the 2007 Independence Bowl).
