TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- University of Alabama Athletics Director Mal Moore announced today that the University of Hawaii would be the season-opening football opponent in Tuscaloosa for the 2006 season. The game will be played on Sept. 2.
The one-game contract with Hawaii completes the Tide’s 2006 schedule which includes seven home games.
“We are certainly excited to have Hawaii in Tuscaloosa to open the 2006 season,” Moore said. “We very much appreciate the class manner in which our team and fans were treated during our two trips to the islands and we look forward to hosting Hawaii at Bryant-Denny Stadium.”
Here is the complete schedule for the 2006 season: Sept. 2 Hawaii; Sept. 9 Vanderbilt; Sept. 16 Louisiana-Monroe; Sept. 23 at Arkansas; Sept. 30 at Florida; Oct. 14 Ole Miss; Oct. 21 at Tennessee; Oct. 28 Florida International; Nov. 4 Mississippi State; Nov. 11 at LSU and Nov. 18 Auburn.
