ATLANTA, Ga. -- University of Alabama sophomore quarterback John Parker Wilson (Hoover) and sophomore tight end Nick Walker (Brundidge) will be featured on FSN South this week, leading up to Saturday's Southeastern Conference opener against Vanderbilt.
FSN South reporter Jenn Hildreth visited Tuscaloosa last week for a profile on the Crimson Tide's starting quarterback, John Parker Wilson. Wilson made his first collegiate start against Hawai'i on September 2 and completed 16 of 29 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown in the 25-17 win.
Hildreth also talked with Walker and his matchup this weekend with Vanderbilt sophomore quarterback Chris Nickson. Walker and Nickson were teammates at Pike County High School in Brundidge and led the Bulldogs to the Class 3A state championship in 2003.
Wilson's feature will air Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 10 p.m. (CST) on the nightly show "Around the South". It will air again on Thursday, September 7 at 5:30 p.m. (CST) on "SEC-TV Weekly"
Walker's story will air Thursday, September 7 at 5:30 p.m. (CST) on "SEC-TV Weekly" and again at 10 p.m. (CST) on "Around the South". The Walker feature is also scheduled to air during the pregame show of the Alabama-Vanderbilt game on Saturday, September 9, 2006 between 2-2:30 p.m. (CST) on FSN South.
The Alabama-Vanderbilt game will be televised by FSN South beginning at 2:30 p.m. This is will be Alabama's first appearance ever on FSN South.
