TUSCALOOSA, Ala. Following its season-opening win over Western Carolina in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, the University of Alabama football team headed back to the practice field to prepare for its SEC opener at Vanderbilt.
The Crimson Tide will take on the Commodores Saturday, Sept. 8, in Nashville. The two teams met in 2006 in Tuscaloosa, where Alabama prevailed, 13-10. Vanderbilt also won its season opener on Saturday with a 41-17 win over Richmond.
With the Labor Day holiday on Monday, the Tide players had the day off in the class room.
Practice began at 4:00 p.m. on the fields at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility. All practices remain closed to the public. The Tide is slated to practice at its regular afternoon times on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before travelling to Nashville on Friday.
Game time for the Tide-Commodore contest is set for shortly after 11:30 a.m. (CT) in Vanderbilt Stadium. The game will be broadcast by the Lincoln Financial Sports Network regionally and is a part of ESPN’s College GameDay package available on selected satellite dish and cable networks. Announcers will be Dave Neal, Dave Archer and Dave Baker.
