Crimson Tide Puts Finishing Touches on Kent State
Sept. 1, 2011
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team practiced in shells for the final time on Thursday before opening the 2011 season against Kent State on Saturday.
The Crimson Tide worked for 90 minutes inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility as they put the finishing touches on the season's first game plan. Saturday's kickoff is slated for 11:21 a.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium and will be televised on the SEC Network.
"I can't wait for Saturday's game," Crimson Tide running back Trent Richardson told the media Wednesday evening after practice. "I miss the fans. I miss walking down the Walk of Champions. I miss all of it. I can't wait to get out there and hear our crowd go crazy when we come walking out of the locker room."
The only work remaining for the Crimson Tide will be a walkthrough on Friday. Kent State, Alabama head coach Nick Saban's alma mater, will kick off the Crimson Tide 117th season of college football.
