The University of Alabama football team continued its preparation for the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders this evening at the Hank Crisp practice facility.
"We're full speed into Middle Tennessee and we're still getting some work in against each other which has been great, we'll do that all year," said head coach Mike Shula. "Today we went back and actually got a couple periods in of what we did earlier in training camp where we compete, the offensive and defensive line went one-on-one."
"Practice went good; we got a real good day of conditioning in. We're going to pull off on the conditioning for the rest of the week," said Shula.
Shula also addressed the mock game the team held on Friday.
"We covered 48 situations in all three phases, anywhere from surprise onside kicks to taking a safety, two-point conversions, quick turnovers, substitutions, just guys being ready and trying to make sure guys have the understanding of how important it is to stay in the game at all times because you never know what's going to happen with a quick turnover or somebody getting hurt."
The Crimson Tide will enter its normal game week mode this week taking Monday off before working again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday followed by a walk-through on Friday heading into Saturday's game against the Blue Raiders at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. and it will be televised on a pay-per view basis.
