Crimson Tide Gets Back to Work After Two Days Off
Aug. 24, 2010 TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team returned to the practice field with a two-hour practice session Tuesday at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. It is the first time the Crimson Tide has hit the field since Saturday's scrimmage. "We continue this week to take something that our opponents do that is a little bit different and take a portion of practice to work on that," head coach Nick Saban said. "We work on fundamentals very hard and then do a lot of work still against each other, so we can continue to improve good-on-good and try to get better execution with the fundamental things that we need to do play winning football. "We still have a long way to go and a lot of young guys who have made a tremendous amount of improvement, but we need to continue to grow and play with more consistency." The Tide began initial preparations for this season's opponents for the first time today. Alabama will begin full preparation for its season opener against San Jose State on Monday. The Crimson Tide will kick off the 2010 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. in the newly renovated Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
